About Us

Ramgarhia Sports and Social Club (RSSC) is a well established community run sports club based in West London. The club has a diverse membership ranging from juniors to seniors and provides high quality training for the following activities:

  • Badminton
  • Cricket
  • Football
  • Hockey
  • Karate
  • Squash
  • Yoga

The club currently operates in various locations throughout the borough of Ealing. RSSC’s vision is to create an independent and dedicated facility to provide greater community harmony, promote better health and wellbeing in the community, promote equality through sports to facilitate changing social requirements. RSSC has produced some professional athletes through the various sports.

RSSC has demonstrated excellence in many sports, particularly hockey and karate, over the years where its members have achieved recognition at County, National and International level. The hockey team has also represented and won Gold medals for Ealing Borough at the London Youth Games in the 1980’s, while in Karate, RSSC members have represented England and Ealing Borough winning Gold medals at the European Championships and the London Youth games respectively.

In addition to the above activities which run throughout the year, RSSC also hold the Annual Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia Tournament every August. The events at this open tournament, which attracts participation at National level include Karate, Hockey, Badminton, Football, Cricket, Golf and Squash.

RSSC is now an independent registered charity and continues to provide various sports and social activities to the community from all backgrounds, age groups and gender, adhering to its vision to:

  • Promote sports and social activities to the local community
  • Promote community partnerships and equality through sports
  • Provide social and educational opportunities for the disadvantaged
  • Promote community engagement and enhance social cohesion

With the support of its members and the local community, the Club is in a healthy state and well placed to increase its exposure and work with the wider society. In early 2011, the Club shared its history, achievements and ambitions for the future with the London Borough of Ealing to seek their expertise and support to raise the Club’s profile and bring many of its activities to one location. RSSC have since 2011 assembled a project management team, which to date has offered a fee free voluntary service in preparing detailed operational, management and financial strategies for the project.

In conjunction with the London Borough of Ealing, RSSC have to date secured £550,000 through various grants to finance the first phase of the development, which is expected to commence in summer 2014. On completion of the Durdans Park Project, RSSC will consolidate its activities to this central location and continue to fulfil their vision of “promoting community engagement and excellence in sports”.
