The 2011 – 2012 season was a benchmark for the club with the introduction to 1st team hockey of up and coming youngsters from the clubs 2nd XI. A true emphasis of the clubs vision and foundations for the future.

The presence of experienced players such as Parmi Soor, Prabjot Hunjan again proved to be invaluable to the team as did the youngsters Amrit Mahey, Sundeep Girn and Mavneet Girn. The contributions of the other players are worthy of mention, Charanjit Panesar, Rashpal Dhadyale, Manjit Gahir, Sachpal Plaha, Jaswinder Bahra, Satpal Noteh, Sukhwinder Banse, Raja Kohli, Bahadur Panesar, Mandip Mahal and Jas Dhamu. The clubs forwards Prabjot and Bahadur Panesar were a formidable force for opposition defences once again scoring 45 goals between them. Prabjot with 31 goals was the league’s leading goal scorer for the season.

A welcome addition to the club over the last season was Pinder Sagoo as the club coach. Pinder brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge to the club having coached/played at national league level key to the direction the club is heading with its budding array of youngsters.

Amrit Mahey at the age of 16 has been playing hockey for the last 3 seasons and has shown tremendous potential rewarded by regular 1st team hockey. Amrit is currently a member of the Middlesex U-17s squad. Sundeep (18yrs) and Mavneet Girn (16yrs) have taken to their father Ranbir Girn’s footsteps and have also greatly impressed with their exposure to the challenges of 1st team hockey during the season. Mavneet has also represented Middlesex U-17s. They are sure to emulate their dad in the coming years.

The 2012-2013 season will see the club grow in strength and youthfulness in a bid to gain promotion and further expose the youngsters to challenges of higher leagues. Of notable mention, is the exposure of the clubs youngsters to their heroes from the Indian Olympic team who were hosted by the Ramgarhia Sports and Social Club prior to the Olympics. A special thanks goes to Bhupinder Plaha, Pinder Sagoo and Monty Plaha for organising this event and an unforgettable evening. Hats off to you!
